Paradox Customs Takes Bold Step by Offering Prebuilt PCs Without RAM

Paradox Customs has added a new option to its PC configurator that allows clients to order systems with no RAM installed and then find their own memory modules. On December 19th, 2025, a post on X stated that RAM shortages and skyrocketing prices made it unwise to source RAM.Customers can avoid increased rates by using their own RAM or locating better deals and installing it themselves.
Due to ongoing RAM shortages and the price of ram skyrocketing, we are now providing the option to select no ram in the build section of our website!
If you already have RAM sticks or can source them elsewhere, feel free to use this option ✅ pic.twitter.com/rlGLPpfznC

The system is built as usual, and the no RAM option allows the customer to install their own modules. Paradox Customs’ move underscores the bigger turmoil in the component market. DDR5 prices have skyrocketed in recent months due to high demand from AI users and a restricted capacity to supply consumer-grade memory. This means that the contract costs for critical DDR5 chips have tripled in a single quarter, inflicting significant hardship for PC builders. Other large players, like CyberPowerPC / Dell, have already raised their costs on their systems, and other manufacturers have even ceased selling standalone RAM entirely.
Customers save the money they would have spent on RAM from Paradox Customs while avoiding the supply chain’s unpredictable nature. Of course, this lays additional responsibility on the customer; upgrading RAM is very simple for more advanced users, but you must keep an eye out for compatibility; if done wrong, it might cause boot issues or stability problems until you address it. Paradox Customs hasn’t indicated how they’ll handle assistance in these instances yet, but it’s logical to think the consumer will be stuck with typical troubleshooting advice or will have to turn to the RAM manufacturer.
This move underscores just how tight the memory supply has become, as even the shortages that thought to be short-lived now look like they’ll drag on until mid-2026 at the very least, with forecasters indicating prices will remain high until manufacturing increases. For the time being, Paradox Customs is providing clients with a practical solution to this problem: allow them to find their own memory.
