One Redditor’s Amazon Mix-Up Turns Two SSDs Into a Mountain of Storage

On Christmas Eve, a user on the r/pcmasterrace subreddit revealed a holiday surprise that quickly drew everyone’s attention. They posted a few images of two enormous boxes, and it turned out they had ordered only two $250 Samsung 9100 PRO 2TB SSDs to give their setup a boost.

However, it turned out that they had gotten more than simply two individual drives. No, the delivery consisted of two complete boxes. That equates to between $6,000 and $10,000, according to community assessments of the entire worth. The customer had recently ordered these high-performance PCIe 5.0 NVMe disks, so that’s quite a windfall.

A combination of curiosity and guilt prompted the customer to contact Amazon support right away. He inquired whether he was meant to return those extras or if keeping them would cause any problems. The representative informed him that, under a straightforward rule from the United States Federal Trade Commission, customers are not required to pay for or return items that they never ordered. So Amazon just confirmed that he was allowed to keep everything.
