Review: Trevor Donovan, Jillian Murray, and Dominic Lopez star in ‘Chasing Christmas’ on Great American Family

Actors Trevor Donovan and Jillian Murray star in the new original holiday film “Mario Lopez Presents: Chasing Christmas,” which premiered on December 21st on Great American Family.

In this movie, a Christmas wishes tree brings together a morning show host Michael (Trevor Donovan) and a designer Mia (Jillian Murray), and they set out on a holiday mission to make a child’s Christmas dreams come true.

Teaming up with Michael’s daughter, Daphne (Cleary Herzlinger), and Mia’s son, Cruz (Dominic Lopez), the two families race across Buffalo in search of the season’s most sought-after toy – The Golden Gliders.

Along the way, festive adventures, unexpected challenges and the spirit of the season draw Michael and Mia closer, thus proving that the most significant gift is finding love and family when you least expect it.

With “Chasing Christmas” being the last original new holiday film of 2025, it is safe to say that the Great American Family network ended its year on a high note.

Jillian Murray is effervescent as Mia opposite a suave Trevor Donovan as Michael.

Trevor Donovan and Jillian Murray have solid chemistry together, and their affecting rapport allows for more resonance.

Cleary Herzlinger is endearing as Daphne, while Dominic Lopez delivers a true breakout performance as Cruz (it is evident that acting and performing are in his blood and he is able to hold his own).

Overall, “Chasing Christmas” is a warm and uplifting new Great American Family rom-com starring Trevor Donovan and Jillian Murray.
