Atletico Madrid learn punishment for fans’ racist behaviour at Arsenal | Football
Atletico Madrid have learned their punishment for their fans’ ‘racist and discriminatory behaviour’ at Arsenal in October, and it is just a slap on the wrists from UEFA.
The Gunners hosted the Spanish side in the Champions League on October 21 and picked up a resounding 4-0 win.
Incredibly the game was goalless as the hour-mark neared, but the home side were four goal to the good by the 70th minute.
Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli scored before a Viktor Gyokeres brace, all within 13 minutes.
However, the game was marred by the behaviour of some Atletico Madrid fans at the Emirates.

ESPN report that a charge of ‘racist and discriminatory behaviour’ from supporters was brought against the club due to monkey gestures and noises and Nazi salutes.
As a result, Atletico Madrid have been given a fine of €30,000 (£26,000) and a suspended ban on fans travelling to away games.
The one-match ban on ticket sales for an away game has been suspended for a one-year probationary period.
There is also a separate charge due to supporters throwing objects, which has been punished with a €10,000 (£8,760) fine.
It is not much of a punishment at all from UEFA, in reality.
Arsenal have now won all five of their Champions League fixtures this season after a 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Mikel Arteta’s side sit top of the group stage, with no other team boasting a perfect record so far.
Their nearest challengers are Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern, Real Madrid and Inter Milan, all winning 12 points from a possible 15.
Atletico are 12th in the league stage, with three wins and two defeats so far.
