World’s First and Only Porsche Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch Unveiled

Porsche recently handed over the keys to a fully customized Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch that had been created just for one lucky owner in Dubai. This bespoke beauty is a one-of-a-kind vehicle designed from the ground up to suit the owner’s specific preferences. And this isn’t the only one-of-a-kind; the company’s Sonderwunsch program creates all sorts of interesting vehicles for customers who enjoy getting involved in every detail, from the paint job to the inside trim.

This Panamera relies on Porsche’s rich heritage, combining tributes to some of its most iconic vehicles from the past with some truly innovative new concepts. So it’s a mix of the 959 rally car, the 356 Carrera 2, and the 911 Carrera RS, but with a modern twist that transforms it into a sleek and athletic sedan that still handles like a dream.

Most buyers just wish to change basic features, such as replacing the wheels with new ones or stitching their initials into the leather. But this Panamera takes things to the next level. The body is a dead ringer for the 959, with a front end inspired by the epic wide fenders and flared arches that made the 1980s supercar so iconic. The Graphite Grey paint is extremely lovely, especially as it shifts in the sunlight and reveals those fantastic metallic pieces.

Inside, the cabin is essentially a rolling lounge. Leather is everywhere, in deep black, with some really fine GT Silver stitching that matches the seats of the 1956 356 Carrera 2. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a special armrest console with a humidor built right in – ideal for keeping a dozen cigars, complete with cedar lining and temperature control to keep them fresh. Next to it is a little compartment for a bottle chiller, which is powered by the car’s own battery, so whether you’re driving through the city or headed out into the desert for a ride, a champagne cocktail is always nearby!

Engineers spent a lot of time fine-tuning the powertrain to achieve the ideal balance, not so much in terms of speed as in terms of handling. The end result is a twin-turbo V8 producing 620 horsepower and coupled to an eight-speed PDK transmission that shifts like butter, whether you’re cruising or carving up a mountain route. The brakes are borrowed from the Taycan Turbo GT and feature carbon-ceramic rotors that bring the car to a strong yet smooth stop. Meanwhile, the suspension has been reduced by a full 10 millimeters, giving it a razor-sharp finish. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires have been installed – 265/35 in the front and 325/30 in the rear. And acceleration from 0 to 60 in 3.1 seconds is just the frosting on the cake. The real brilliance is in how it corners, thanks to active anti-roll bars that keep the body flat and stable as a rock.

The wheels are stunning, beginning with the twenty-two inch rims in a brilliant magnesium-gold finish that evokes the classic Fuchs alloys of the 1973 911 Carrera RS – but with a modern twist, of course. Each spoke has been laser etched with a unique number, serving as a wonderful reminder that this is a one-of-a-kind piece. Speaking of which, it’s a one-of-a-kind since Porsche produced only one of these on purpose. The seats are another work of art, with a stunning houndstooth design inspired by the 356, made of leather and cloth that will conform to your body with no slipping or slipping at all.

The handover in Dubai added a touch of luxury to the proceedings. The entire event took place at the Porsche Experience Center, where the new owner got to take a lap around the track before popping open the champagne, the same champagne that is now proudly displayed in the car. And don’t forget the enormous amount of time and effort that went into perfecting every tiny aspect, beginning with the earliest ideas and concluding with prototypes that were thoroughly tested in Weissach.
